For 240p/288p games, no special settings should be required. For 480i games, you may wish to bypass the OSSC (or use the 480i passthrough mode once implemented) if picture quality is more important than input lag.

XRGB-3 Specific settings

When using RGB cables, you may need a console or cable modified for Luma for sync, rather than sync on composite video. This helps eliminate any chequerboard effects and also prevents the screen blanking when the picture gets too bright in B1 mode.

XRGB-Mini Specific settings

Upscaling from 480i:

  • IMAGE_MODE = NATURAL
  • H_SCALER = 6
  • V_SCALER = 5
  • SHARPNESS = 0 or 1 (0 recommended)

Upscaling from 480p:

  • IMAGE_MODE = PICTURE
  • H_SCALER = 6
  • V_SCALER = 5
  • SHARPNESS = 0 or 1 (0 recommended)

NOTE: For a marginal increase in sharpness, H_SCALER may be increased to 7 without unduly affecting scaling accuracy.

OSSC Specific settings

For 240p/288p games, no special settings should be required. For 480i games, you may wish to bypass the OSSC (or use the 480i passthrough mode once implemented) if picture quality is more important than input lag.
