Things to Consider and useful informations
SWISS
SWISS is basically a swiss armyknife and unleashes the full potential of the GameCube. See the Project-Page and the GC-Forever Wiki for further information and how to get it running.
Basic Features of SWISS that are relevant for enhancing the image quality:
- Enforcing specific resolutions / Progressive Scan
- Requires an Output capable of 480p / 576p (Component, GC Video, PixelFX G.E.M.)

- Disabling FullScreen Alpha Dithering
- This removes the Alpha Dithering Filtering for most games and improves video output especially for DigitalOut. See here.

Native Progressive Scan / PAL60
- Most PAL-Games contain a PAL60 Mode, which can be enabled by pressing and holding B-Button at game startup. PAL60 is NOT automatically progressive scan, so the output changes to 480i.
- Some NTSC-Games contain a Progressive Scan Mode, which can be enabled by pressing and holding B-Button at game startup.

GCVideo
Note: For best results, GCVideo must be on firmware 3.1. If your device is using an older version of GCVideo, you can grab 3.1 firmware from here. For Carby, grab it here. For details on GCVideo settings, see the README in the GitHub.
For GCDual:
- Power on the GC, then press and hold the button combo L+R+X+Y to open the GCVideo menu.
- Use Up+Down on directional pad and X+Y buttons (Back & Forward) to set the values below.
- When finished, select Store Settings to save and then Exit.
For Carby:
- Power on the GC, then with the included remote use either Menu or OK to open the GCVideo menu.
- Use Up+Down+Left+Right arrows to navigate and set the values below.
- When finished, select Store Settings to save and then Exit.
Scaler Specific
GC Video Standalone
If you are using GC Video for direct connection without any scaler, following settings should be configured:
- Output Settings:
Allow 480p Mode On Crop 486 to 480 On RGB Limited Range Off Enhanced DVI Mode On Display as 16:9 Off
- View All Modes:
240p Linedoubler: Off 288p Linedoubler: Off 480i Linedoubler: Off 576i Linedoubler: Off
- Advanced Settings:
Chroma Interpolation Off GameCube natively uses YCbCr 4:2:2 (Digital Color Format = YC422). If you prefer to use YC444 / RGB-F / RGB-L, then Chroma Interpolation must be On. Fix Resolution Off Fix Sync Timing Off Regenerate CSync Off Digital Color Format YC422 / YC444 / RGB-F / RGB-L GameCube natively uses YCbCr 4:2:2 (Digital Color Format = YC422). If you prefer to use YC444 / RGB-F / RGB-L, then Chroma Interpolation must be On. Report 240p as 480i Off
